Describes UI features and settings for Take Recorder.

There are many settings and options available in Take Recorder, including feature settings and source settings.

Take Recorder Interface

Take Recorder has a multitude of settings and options for customizing each recording, based on the Source Type and various asset settings.

Take Recorder Settings

There are general Take Recorder settings that you can adjust, which include microphone, audio, world, and user settings.

Description

Root Take Save Dir

Root directory where takes are saved.

Take Save Dir

Take file name format.

Default Slate

Default name for the take.

Record Sources into Sub Sequences

Each track is recorded into a separate sequence and embedded in the Master Sequence. Sub-sequences are grouped into a sub-folder under the Master Sequence.

Record to Possessable

All recorded actors are recorded to possessable object bindings in Sequencer, as opposed to objects spawned by Sequencer.

Default Tracks

List of movie scene tracks that are always created. The underlying properties may or may not animate during recording.

Microphone Audio Recorder Settings

Audio Track Name

Default track name.

Audio Sub Directory

Sub-folder where tracks are saved. If empty, tracks are saved in the same location as the Preset Save Location in User Settings.

Animation Recorder Settings

Animation Track Name

Default track name.

Animation Sub Directory

Sub-folder where tracks are saved. If empty, tracks are saved in the same location as the Preset Save Location in User Settings.

World Recorder Settings

Record World Settings

Include World Settings in take.

Autotrack Actors

Adds a binding and track for all actors that are not explicitly being recorded.

Description

Maximize Viewport

Maximizes viewport while recording.

Countdown

How many seconds delay before recording begins.

Engine Time Dilation

The applied Time Engine Dilation during recording.

Sample Clock

Source clock for recording.

Remove Redundant Track

Removes redundant tracks when recording spawnable actors.

Save Recorded Tracks

Saves level sequences and assets after completing recording.

Auto Serialize

Incrementally serializes and stores data while recording.

Preset Save Location

File path where takes are saved in the Content Browser.

Source Settings

There are various kinds of sources you can use with Take Recorder and they each have their own individual settings.

Actor and Level Source Setings

Actor Source

Source Actor

Lists the actor in the recording.

Record Type

Indicates whether the actor is recorded with the default Project Setting or as a Spawnable or Possessable actor. If Possessable, then the Object Binding will not create a Spawnable copy of the actor but instead will possess the object in the level.

Reduce Keys

Reduces sequence keys during recording.

Actor Recorded Properties

Actor properties included in recording.

Level Sequence Source

Level Sequence to Trigger

Indicates which Level sequences trigger during recording

Level Visibility Source

Level Visibility Track Name

Name of the Level Visibility track

Microphone Audio Source Settings

Description

Audio Gain

Applied decibels in recording.

Split Audio Channels Into Separate Tracks

Indicates whether or not to split the microphone channels into separate audio tracks. If unchecked, only 2 input channels are supported.

Replace Recorded Audio

Replace existing audio with newly recorded audio.

Audio Track Name

Default track name.

Audio Sub Directory

Sub-folder where tracks are saved. If empty, tracks are saved in the same location as the Preset Save Location in User Settings.

All Nearby Spawned Actors Source

Spawn Proximity

Distance between the camera and the actor necessary for spawning during recording.

Filter Spawned Actors

Enables you to record certain actors based on the set filter.

Filter Types

Filter for spawned objects.

World Source

Record World Settings

Include World Settings in take.

Autotrack Actors

Adds a binding and track for all actors that are not explicitly being recorded.
