Exporting Datasmith Content from Solidworks

Describes how to export a Solidworks scene to a Datasmith file that you can import into Unreal Engine.

Choose your operating system:

Once you installed the Datasmith Exporter Plugin for Solidworks , you will have the option to save your Solidworks scene as a .udatasmith file.

Follow the steps below in Solidworks to export your scene using this new filetype.

  1. From the main toolbar, click the drop-down arrow next to the Save button, then select Save As.

  2. In the Save As window, from the Save as type drop-down, select the Unreal ( *.udatasmith ) filetype.
