Meshes for Mobile Platforms

Guidelines for creating content for mobile games.

Mesh Types

The list below shows all of the mesh types supported on mobile platforms. No other types of mesh are supported.

The import process or asset creation process is the same for these types on mobile as it is for other platforms.

Mesh Limitations

There are certain restrictions on the mesh types supported on mobile platforms due to the hardware.

  • All mesh types can have up to 65k vertices due to the lack of 32 bit index support on mobile hardware.

  • Skeletal Meshes can have up to 75 bones.

Welcome to the new Unreal Engine 4 Documentation site!

We're working on lots of new features including a feedback system so you can tell us how we are doing. It's not quite ready for use in the wild yet, so head over to the Documentation Feedback forum to tell us about this page or call out any issues you are encountering in the meantime.

We'll be sure to let you know when the new system is up and running.
