Realistic Planet Mars with high detail textures and terrain
Showcase video:
Giga Mars is derived from over 1 billion polygons, with this terrain data powered by Nanite, enabling cinematic viewing of Mars for a variety of purposes, in real-time. The total color map is over 81,000 pixels wide and 40,000 pixels high which is based on real data that has then been artistically treated. The normal map is over 40,000 x 20,000 pixels, and allows for normal flatness to be adjusted, changing the intensity of the normal map features.
This project provides Mars at two different scales in two separate levels, one small stylized and artistic, while the other is built to scale.
The project MUST have streaming virtual textures enabled, which can be achieved by the following instructions.
In the Project Settings under Engine > Rendering > Virtual Textures, check the box next to Enable virtual texture support.
This product supports Nanite for Unreal Engine 5.0+
