Motion-captured realistic animations including rapier, sidesword and shield techniques, general sword actions, interactions with tables and chairs, from our video game project Fortune Favours the Bold, for general public use.
This asset pack contains assets from our video game Fortune Favours the Bold, including:
Two versions are provided, one is rigged to standard Unreal Engine skeleton though this is not-recommended, while the other version is rigged to a modified Unreal Engine skeleton with added a main-hand weapon bone, and an off-hand object (shield, buckler or weapon) bone. Since the animations include motions of the weapon bone of both hands, if you use the version with the standard Unreal Engine skeleton without the weapon bones, you will lose that important information carried by the combat animations in this pack.
All animations in this pack and motion captured, and then hand modified to correct all errors and enhanced quality by me. The techniques of rapier and sidesword & shield follow 16th and 17th century treatises. They are perfect for realistic games set in late medieval or the Renaissance times, or fantasy/sci-fi games inspired by combat from such periods.
You can modify the animations to suit your purposes. Most of the combat animations are captured with moderate speed, to provide a higher framerate. Obviously feel free to speed them up to look more effective in combat.
