Particles & Effects

Effects within a game are important to creating the look and feel of a living environment. They add the interaction, movement, and variation that is essential to creating believable worlds for the player. Without these, it is more difficult for the player to engage their imaginations and become immersed in the game as a whole.

Effects Topics
  • ParticleSystems - Creating effects using particle systems and emitters.
  • Decals - Using projected material decals onto surfaces.
  • Lens Flares - Creating lens flare cinematic effects.
  • Fluid Surfaces - Creating dynamic, interactive fluid surfaces.
  • Fog Effects - Creating and using distance-based and volumetric fog effects.
